International Workshop on Relativity and Devotion, Text and Context: New Frontiers of Jewish Literacy

New York , USA

Center for Jewish History & Yeshivat Maharat

New York City, October 7-8, 2018

Elisha Ancselovits (Emory University, Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, and Yeshivat Maalei Gilboa), Sergey Dolgopolski (SUNY-Buffalo), and Ethan Katz (UC-Berkeley) are delighted to announce the convening of a major international workshop in New York City on October 7-8. Our gathering seeks to bridge the divide between textualist, traditionalist (frequently what we might call devotionist) perspectives on Jewish Studies on the one hand, and those that are more driven by context and theory (and often relativist) on the other.

The event is free and open to the public but RSVP is required and space is limited. To RSVP, please write to info.bcsr@berkeley.edu.
