The calligraphed header includes scripts from ancient to modern, symbolizing the range of eras encompassed by Jewish Studies. ‘PERSPECTIVES’ and the date are in a rare fourth-century Roman hand; ‘AJS’ and ‘The Magazine of the Association for Jewish Studies’ are in a Renaissance Italic script; ‘The Art Issue’ is a modern, informal take on Italic.
