The Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA) is proud to announce two events for 2019. The UCLA Alan D. Leve Center For Jewish Studies will host a LAJSA Regional Conference on June 3rd-4th, 2019. "The Jewish Americas: Beyond Borders" will bring together scholars who will focus on the differences as well as on the similarities between Jewish experiences in the continent. On October 27 - 28, 2019, the Latin American Jewish and Gender Studies (LAJGS), a Project of the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute at Brandeis University, and Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA) will hold a workshop at Brandeis University. "Engendering Activism: The Multiple Impacts of Latin American Jews" is envisioned as a workshop in which papers will be circulated in advance with the aim of producing a collaborative special issue of the soon-to-be-launched LAJSA journal, Latin American Jewish Studies.
